T O K design studio is a West Vancouver-based Architectural design practice founded on years of experience creating homes, and buildings, that serve as a bridge between people's daily lives, the environment, landscape and local culture. Byron's work has been diverse, with projects as wide ranging as playhouses to high rises, mountain lodges to automotive museums, and civic project contributions to urban and interior design. For over 22 years Byron has been working to create inspired homes for discerning private clients and art collectors.

Who we are

Byron Tokarchuk Principal

Born with an editor’s eye, Byron will help guide you through the many decisions that go into creating an amazing home. He has developed great relationships with clients over the years, and has extensive experience in the residential field. He is known for his generous, open, and creative working style.

Byron is directly involved in every aspect of the work, and committed to bringing creativity and excellence to everything he does.

Byron grew up in Saskatchewan working on a farm, and doing undergraduate degrees at the University of Saskatchewan. He was lucky and talented enough to make basketball a career in his early 20's, travelling the world with Basketball Canada. After shifting gears, Byron attended and graduated from UBC's school of Architecture in 1993, and has been working locally ever since.

After a long and productive career working in residential architecture as Senior associate and co-creator at Lamoureux Architect Inc., Byron stepped out in 2017 to run his own practice, and hasn’t looked back.

Trigger
Partner, snack removal specialist

Trigger has been helping out with snack removal, and providing canine services for over four years now. He is always there if you need help disposing of your lunch, or even if you just happen to drop something. He specializes in napping, following his master, and entertaining the troops. He is an avid yoga practitioner, and does a mean downward dog, as well as the Cobra. Who knows? Triggers influence may show up in custom home design on the rare occasion.

He grew up in Quesnel, British Columbia where he developed a love of food, and ball chasing. After being rescued from the SPCA, and being exposed to the traditional architectural field, he has settled into his new life of design facilitation, collaboration, brainstorming, napping, bug hunting, and snack gobbling, with enthusiasm and a twinkle in his eye.

Anja Henche Interior Design

Modern interior design, and home architecture, are Anja’s passions, with a special love of European classic design. She greatly enjoys working closely with our clients to refine their aesthetic and goals. Anja taps into her extensive knowledge of international style and different design periods to create special personalized spaces for clients to thrive in.

Anja is the principal of AH Design, a respected interior design firm in West Vancouver. She collaborates with Byron to bring fully integrated interiors to the next level on projects.

Many enjoyable and long lasting relationships with customers have been built over the years, and Anja always looks forward to meeting and working with our new clients.
